Travel Tips & Packing Necessities
Recently we spent a week in Austin TX (watch my vlog!) and I would like to share some traveling tips with you in regards to luggage, travel items, and organization Remember that Spring Break is fast approaching so now is the time to really take in these travel tips. Also, keep in mind that luggage and travel accessories make great gift items.
When it comes to traveling there are a few items that I love…..First of all, you MUST have GREAT rollers on your luggage…and I didn’t say GOOD I said GREAT. That is why we like the Samsonite Brand, Samsonite Warranty, and the price point.
Secondly, all of your smaller handbags or smaller travel bags MUST have the luggage sleeve or strap adapter. Better to purchase with built-in. You do not want to end up carrying your bag or using a flimsy shoulder strap that cuts right through your shoulder as you are walking. We have done it and we have conquered it now! This sleeve can connect right on to each luggage or you have the adaptable strap as a separate purchase.
My work bag also has this luggage sleeve feature! My exact work bag is currently sold out, but I’ve linked it in other patterns. Watch my review video here!
Okay, onto luggage!
Softsided Luggage
Hardsided Luggage
Here are some other laptop bags and bookbag options for both men and women!
Below are some carry on bags that can also attach to your luggage. One even features a built-in USB charger.
Away Luggage
A great brand that has been all the rage recently (and for good reason) is Away Luggage! Away also offers a lifetime warranty on their products and each case comes in multiple colors! They offer 4 different sizes of carry on suitcases (including a kids size) and have different options of each. My top pick is the Bigger Carry On with Pocket! I also love the additional feature of the battery to charge your phone!
A special feature to consider for protecting your bags are inexpensive sleeves you can purchase. This does a couple of things like protects the bags especially if you have a hardcover, and makes it easier to identify your bag when it comes out on the baggage claim rollers. Trust me on this one, when you purchase that beautiful Samsonite Winfield 2 and then you grab it off of the carousel and it has huge black scuffs marks and you are sick to your stomach! Been there done it.
Many colors to choose from too to make it more unique and visible but at the same time protect the suitcase. Who has been waiting for their luggage on the carousel and they all look the same? Yes! Me! That’s why now we have colorful items on ours, sleeves, and tags that stand out.
You can achieve that by purchasing the protective sleeves and then some cool tags so your names and info are on there. They also make less bulky options for the men in your life!
Don’t forget about the extras that make packing so much easier. Packing cubes, cord cases and organizers, shoe organizers, you name it. They make packing so much easier!
Cell Phone Accessories
Whether you are Apple or Samsung-GET rid of your cords! Just make sure the phone case you have is “wireless accessible.” When you’re on the plane you usually have a couple of options to charge your phone. Recently on a Delta flight, there was a USB cord outlet available to you and the international converter plug. Much easier to use a USB cord or your own portable charger. However, if you wanted to charge a laptop or something like that then that’s where the International Connection comes into play.
This portable charger is the best thing since sliced bread! Everything is all in one compact rectangle – it’s such a space saver!
Headphones
When it comes to headphones, don’t forget that your AirPods or other wireless headphones may not work on the airplane. It’s always best to have a traditional pair of headphones on hand!
