Simple Stripes
Dress – I am wearing a small / Other dress, here I am wearing a size 4. I could have gotten away with a size 2, but went up to play it safe in the bust area / Shapewear / Earrings / Sunglasses / Shoes or these / Handbag
Morning! I hope you had the chance to catch up on some extra zzz’s, today. Sleep is important and should be given plenty of love. For me, not so lucky. We stayed up late, enjoying a nice bonfire. And, like clockwork, I was up before five. It’s never worth it for me to pull a late night.
Well, if you haven’t figured it out yet, I LOVE stripes!!! More importantly, stripe dresses. If you don’t believe me, check out these blog posts, here, here, and here.
This dress caught my eye due to its neutral, earthy colors. I love the baby blue-gray weaved in it. Another feature I love about this dress is the neckline, as you know, v-necks are my most flattering cut.
I have already worn this dress 3 times. When I say three times, I mean in the last 10 days!! I kid you not. Comfort, versatility and the fact that this type of fabric doesn’t wrinkle, has been exactly what I needed. As you know, my husband and I traveled this past week. This dress was perfect for traveling and I even swapped out the wedges for some flat, neutral sandals and wore this number to the practice round at the U.S. Open, on Wednesday. It was perfect. Lightweight, and wrinkle proof is exactly what I needed for a day of traveling and tooling around a golf course.
I had to revisit this dress a second time, while on our little get-away. On Thursday, our second day at Oakmont, we got soaked & muddy from all the storms that swung through. After leaving the course, we were going straight to dinner. I cleaned up with towels that I keep stored in my trunk, and water that was the result of melted ice in our cooler. I threw this dress on in the back seat of the car, and off to dinner we went. From there we drove another three hours before getting a hotel for the night. Needless to say, this dress was quite the lifesaver. We will be traveling again, next month. You better believe this simple stripe dress will be worn again, during our travels. It will also be a good backup outfit, for when I need it. This dress rolls perfectly into little sausage for easy packing in your luggage. It is light as a feather, as well. If you will be flying, where every ounce matters, this dress will be perfect and leave you a little extra room for any shopping souvenirs that you may bring home.
Well, Open House season is in full swing. And that is exactly what’s on today’s agenda. Tomorrow we will celebrate the men in our lives. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, hubbys, granddads, and any other father figures that bring meaning to your life. May they be appreciated for all that they do, and all that they bring to the table!
Enjoy your weekend!
