Our Differences Make Us Interesting
The message I deliver in this video is one of my favorites of 2024. Many struggle with others’ behavior, attitudes, choices, values, and more, judging them for being different. Of course, we must ‘Believe people when they show us who they are’ to avoid constant frustration and disappointment. But what about our weaknesses, nuances, poor habits, and emotional flare-ups? We are not exempt from being humans, and others ‘Believe us for showing them who we are,’ too.
We need to view others’ differences as interesting, maybe even humorous, and avoid comparing, which can lead to judging them as wrong, toxic, or irrational. We’re all irrational at times. Our triggers just look different.
Listen to understand today’s message. Listen to it twice. As we head into the holiday season surrounded by loved ones, some of whom we love and some of whom we loathe being around, let what I share sink in. See what happens this year at your holiday gatherings. Will you show up with a different perspective? See what happens as a result. Perhaps you’ll leave feeling more calm and at peace.
