My love for Jumpsuits
O.K., confession.
This is not the first time that I have proclaimed … I LOVE POCKETS!!! Check out this stunning Jumpsuit, here with pockets, as well! Wowza!
Who remembers this blog post, here? In that post, I talk about how much I LOVE anything with pockets … especially when it is dressy! I am willing to cough up more money for something with pockets, because I am a sucker! Yes, I am a sucker for pockets. Weird fetish, isn’t it? But hey, we all have our vices. That is mine, and I am sticking with it. nuff said.
Another real love that I have is Jumpsuits! I know what you’re thinking… “With her bladder problems, is she crazy??” I can’t say that it isn’t a pain in the you-know-what pulling down a jumpsuit when you pay a visit to the little girl’s room. But with my love for jumpsuits, especially jumpsuits with pockets, it’s all worth holding the hubby up an extra 10 minutes. Or worse yet, needing him to unzip me. As long as I don’t wear a jumpsuit to bed, he’s happy. Oh no, like most men … he doesn’t want to have to work for it! {sip, gulp … oops, wrong night}
The beauty with jumpsuits, is they can be dressy enough to wear to a wedding. I would so be the one to do that. I love a good wild-card. Yet, they can be paired-down enough to wear with sneakers.
This gorgeous blue Jumpsuit-gem that I am wearing, wasn’t cheap. But it’s an entire outfit, top-to-bottom. When you think about it that way … nuff said. The two that I really wanted were another dandy by Vince Camuto and this one here by Trina Turk. I settled for the one I got, but I LOVE it, and am so pleased. V-shaped necklines are my most flattering cut and this jumpsuit provided it perfectly, with a slight plunge. Another beautiful feature to this piece of perfection (and let this be a little tip for you thicker-waisted beauties, such as myself)… wrap style dresses, tops, and jumpsuits are a very flattering style for you. They give the illusion of a smaller waist. Who doesn’t love that??? All the perfect hourglass gals out there are saying, “What, smaller waist?” Shush, we thick-waisties can’t stand you! (jk)
Jumpsuit: Vince Camuto Faux Wrap. I ordered both the xs & small. Some of the reviews said that if worn with a higher heel, it could run short. I am never without some type of heel, so I played it safe and ordered two sizes. Nordstrom is the best with their free returns, anyway. The xs was perfect! No length issues. But I couldn’t have went any higher than the dressy, metallic gold wedges that I am wearing.
Here is a plethora of other gorgeous jumpsuits. I want them ALL! Another confession, while shopping for you guys … I ordered a couple of these beauties, myself:
From Nordstrom:
Vince Camuto Beaded Neck / Trina Turk ‘Genevieve’ / Loveappella / Halogen {on sale} / Ali & Jay / stay tuned, just ordered this Hommage Popover Strapless
From Forever 21:
This jumpsuit here is in one of my most flattering colors. Couldn’t resist .. ordered! More dandies: Criss-cross Back Crepe / Love this taupe one, here / Crepe Halter {on sale} / this one, here makes me think of the yellow, pleated cami I wore a couple days ago in this post, here .. so I had to order .. lol .. seriously! / I love charcoal, therefore, I had to restrain from picking up this classy one, here
Lip Cocktail of the Night
Lip Pencil (lined and filled in the entire lip) / Lipstick (applied with this brush) / Gloss (applied in lower center, only) Sidenote: when I am going out for a nice dinner, I love carrying in my clutch a pretty lipstick to apply after dinner. And Tom Ford is hands-down one of the most luxurious lipsticks to carry. I also always carry my sleek and chic, Chanel Pressed Powder, because it has the perfect mirror for applying lipstick, and you can’t be left without a good pressed powder. See details to my ‘lip cocktail’ + pressed powder on Snapchat.
Played with my new Eye Shadow Palette, again. I’m loving it!!!
Well, the hubby and I are off, as you may be noticing if you are watching my Snapchat. Yes, like I have mentioned before, I am ‘planting the seed’. You ladies know what I am talking about. Money-Bags and I are going on a little get-away. Where are we heading, you may wonder. Someplace romantic? Maybe a spa retreat, where we get a couples massage, lying face-to-face gazing into each other’s eyes. Or maybe a weekend of shopping, fine dining, and hitting a play. Sounds nice, doesn’t it ladies? Well, don’t get your hopes up! No, we are headed to … wait for it …. wait for it …GOLF!!! Yes, you heard right, the romantic world of golf! We are heading to one of the four Majors Golf Tournaments of the year. If you don’t know what the majors are, let me give the short story. In golf, there are four major championships each year. The Open Championship is held in the UK and the other three are held in the US. It is on my my husband’s bucket list to attend all four of these championship tournaments at some point in his life. Good luck with the one in the UK. On another note, he is a lucky man, because we are hitting two of them this year. Yes TWO! You better believe I have this note padded and will be reminding him of this in the future. We are heading to this week’s, U.S. Open in Oakmont, PA. Next month, we will be going to the PGA Tournament in Springfield, NJ. The one in New Jersey is just outside of New York City. That trip will be accompanied with some nice dining, shopping, and a show in the city for a few days! Now we’re talking!
Okay-okay, while I’m on a roll, I probably should make another confession. I actually am looking forward to going to these two tournaments. For starters, I LOVE golf! I really do. Back in the day, think Buick Open .. for you locals, I used to have quite the obsession with Fred Couples (Boom-Boom). O.K., maybe I still do. I’m only saying that, because if my husband heard me say, “used too”, he’d give me one of those looks, like who are you trying to kid. Yes, I do still love me some Freddie, even though these days, you really only see him on the seniors tour.
I have moved on slightly to other golfers since my Freddie obsession. But none have really impacted me. Up until about three years ago (maybe 4)… I fell in love with this kid, who was a no name (in golf) at the time. But he has since proven himself and has climbed his way to #5, right up there with Jason, Jordan, Rory, Bubba, and Dustin. If you follow me on Snapchat, you probably already have a good idea who it is. I definitely have done my share of mentioning Rickie Fowler, as well as showing him on Snapchat. I have become quite the fan over the last couple years, and look forward to watching him for many more to come. You better be certain that when I am at Oakmont these next couple days, I will be following him as much as my husband can tolerate. My husbands a Phil Mickelson fan, through-and-through. I was … for a moment! nuff said. I don’t know how much coverage on Snap I will be able to get of Rickie. But I will do my best, as I plan on getting as close to him as possible.
The second thing I love about a mini-vaca, like this particular one … my husband is in his glory. And when our men are in their glory, we benefit … don’t we ladies? Their disposition is better, they’re more attentive, and they just may be willing to spend a little bit more $$$ on their better half, if by chance, they happen upon a nice mall or boutique. nuff said.
Well, it is time for me to sign off, as we are en route to a 7:00 dinner reservation. Don’t forget to pop on Snapchat to see more of this outfit, an update on my Botox, a glimpse of today’s practice round featuring Rickie and a few of the boys. Yes, I follow Rickie on Snapchat. I know!!! Here’s his username: rickiefowler15 .. and yes, I have snapped him a few times today! I know!
Also on Snap, I am once again talking about wearing your most flattering colors and sharing my own personal color palette with you … as well as ‘Money-Bags’. Yes, even the hubby has gotten his colors done. I know!
We will not get into Oakmont, until tomorrow. But, you know where you can find me. Username: tracy-hensel

06/15/2016This looks stunning on you! Thanks for all the hard work you did with all the jumpsuit links; I may have actually found one that may be long enough for me! Jumpsuits are so on trend, and I have been wanting one, but being tall can make it challenging to find one long enough. I hope you have a fabulous time on your travels, and reap some great rewards! 😉😂

06/16/2016Thank you Amy! Yes, jumpsuits can be tricky .. not only factoring in length, but where the waist hits. I tend to be slightly long waisted and rompers + jumpsuits can be tricky on me if the waistline sits too high on them. I already have a pretty prominent bump .. I certainly don’t need to accentuate it anymore than it already is. Hope the one you ordered works for you. You’ll have to keep me posted!

06/26/2016This jumpsuit looks great on you! Love the color too! I am very short waisted and it did not work for me. The waist looked weird in the front and the back on me. I was so bummed!!!

06/26/2016Thank you Lori! I am sorry to hear this jumpsuit did not work on you. This is not good for you, but it is good for me. I rarely can wear jumpsuits, rompers and many dresses because they are made for short-waisted people. I would say that I am normal waisted (maybe slightly long). This has been very frustrating for me. What I have found and the conclusion is – I was shopping at more inexpensive stores and that was my problem. Now that I am purchasing these clothing items in a better quality .. they are better cut, as well. Unfortunately that is not good news for you. However, it could be good news, after-all. You would probably have very good luck at places like Forever21 & H & M .. or more affordable stores. I wish you good luck in finding a jumpsuit that works for you. Thanks for sharing. This is good feedback and could save someone with a similar frame, from making a purchase and as a result, being disappointed.
