This is Only a test

Blue Cardigan

Good Morning everyone! I hope you had a great week. Mine was full of obstacles and setbacks. This blog post is no exception. My plan was to have a different post go out today showing a very small portion of some new Easter decor I had picked up. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get to taking the pictures until last night, when it was already dark. This particular area of our house gets absolutely no natural light. But during the daytime, the area will pick up a little natural light from other adjoining rooms. Needless to say, Not one photo turned out. I am so bummed. Bad call on my part to even attempt it. That was just one of the many setbacks this week. I will not bore you with all the other ones. I’m sure all of you can relate in one way or another. “This is a test, Tracy! This is just a test!”Blue CardiganI tell myself that often, “Tracy, this is a test!” It usually helps me realize not everything in life goes as planned. We have to be flexible. We have to be forgiving, mainly of ourselves. And we have to be realistic. It stinks sometimes being a big girl, doesn’t it?. Do you ever wish you could get away with a two-year old temper tantrum or be whiny all day? I don’t think our family members would give us any sympathy, however.Blue CardiganWe have a pretty busy day today. My husbands working, we have a make-up swim lesson for Pips (Chloe), then a birthday party for my great-nephew, Bentley, who you see all the time on my Snapstories. But I am hoping to get those pictures re-taken, possibly from my cell phone, and be able to publish the post in the morning. There is a SALE that begins tomorrow and I linked all the details and some codes in that blog post. I want you to be able to take advantage of some of these sales while the items you may want are still in stock. Look for that to come out tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. EST. Cross your fingers for good photo’s … no promises.Blue CardiganA Fashion tip for leaner looking legs: I want to use this outfit as an example. It really plays into how my week went. These are not the shoes of choice for me when it comes to this outfit. Don’t get me wrong, I love these booties with the gold zipper detail. I am just not fond of the complete black with no break-up of skin look. Let me explain: If I am going to wear black pants, I would go for a Black pointy toe heel, like you see in this blog post, here or a nude shoe of some sort, like you see in this blog post, here. Now I did not exactly plan this particular shoe for this outfit post. It was very cold outside and the weather was not conducive to wearing what I WOULD have worn with this outfit. So I was going to pack some suede, nude colored heels for, if by chance my husband and I had the opportunity to take a few pictures on his lunch hour. But I wanted to wear socks and boots the rest of the day because of the elements. Well, guess who forgot the heels? Between our work and the weather, my husband and I really stretch ourselves to get these pictures in, in the first place. So you’ve got to {again} be flexible and adapt. The nice thing, is it gave me the chance to share this fashion tip with you. It’s not the first time I have mentioned it in a blog post, but it is something many of us ladies strive for, so it’s worth hearing again. If you want to achieve the look of longer, leaner legs, pointy toe shoes will do wonders. If you’re wearing all black, you want to break it up with more of a heel, that shows some skin, or a different color shoe altogether, nude being the most slimming. Too much black, like you see in this outfit I am wearing, compared to this outfit here, where you see a breakup of skin, creates a bulky look. The other choice, and one that goes with EVERYTHING is the nude pointy toe shoe, boot or sandal, like you see in this photo here, shown with blue jeans. Hope this fashion tip made sense and you found it helpful.Blue CardiganBlue Cardigan Duster / White tank or other options here and here  / Black skinnies: I am wearing these here, but I also have these more affordable ones here and love these ones here and here {size up 2 sizes for the H & M} / Shoes I would recommend: The black pointy toe heels I have are here. I also recommend all these nude or skin toned options, here & here . I just purchased these ones here in the natural color, and you can see them on yesterday’s instagram pictures or watch my Snapstory on Snapchat for another peek. I ordered these beauties here and they came yesterday. I have not tried them on yet, but they are GORGEOUS!!! They may very well be my ‘go-to’  Spring transition shoe/sandal for the season. I will show you today on Snapchat what they look like / Beauty Products of the day: Lip Pencil / Lipstick in Pink Me Up, talked about and love this one here and this here would be a great similar version / topped the lipstick with this Petal Pink, dabbed in the center for an ombre’ effect / Gloss YSL 19 {you can see better photos of this lip combo on my Instagram} / Blush BH Cosmetics using this new brush here that I am in LOVE with / Eye Shadow Palettelashes, the two mascaras used Cover Girl and Mac / Nail Polish / Jewelry: Necklaces + Earrings old, Watch, RingBracelts / Michael Kor clutch is old but I think a neutral bag of any sort would look great, as opposed to black with this outfitBlue CardiganI threw this post together very quickly this morning after getting on my treadmill for an hour. If you find errors, I am sorry … my editor, daughter #4, who wrote this blog post, here is still sound asleep and won’t be up anytime soon, trust me. I hope you enjoy this coffee chit-chat, outfit and fashion tip. Have a nice Saturday! Remember to be flexible, forgiving and realistic today. You won’t be alone. That’s also my mission for the day, hopefully every day. One day at a time. “One day at a time, Tracy! This is only a test!”Blue Cardigan

Great tips for lengthening your look, Tracy! And too funny; I was going to suggest deporting your blush, too, then saw that others had already suggested it. (Snapstory) There are small Z Palettes (hold about 4 items), but even that maybe defeats the purpose?

Thanks Dina! First of all, I get the auto-correct. I had the same problem when I was typing it (depotting). And yes, I thought I better mention it (depotting) on Snapchat before I received 50 snaps advising it, thanking everyone. I have learned I have to do that. Thank you for your feedback on my fashion tips. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xo
